Born in Essen, studied singing with Therese Maxein at the Folkwang School of Music in Essen and with court singer Josef Metternich at the Cologne Music Academy.

Following that he found an excellent singing teacher and musical mentor in Professor Klaus Michael Leifeld. Stefan Lex took a course of master classes with Professor Sylvia Geszty, Professor Liselotte Hammes and Professor Karl-Josef Görgen.
Court singer Karl Ridderbusch chose him as his partner for several concert- and “Liederabend” tours. Stefan Lex performed with renowned artists such as Sylvia Geszty, Günter Wewel, Siegfried Jerusalem, Gunther Emmerlich, Hermann Prey, Deborah Sasson and others.

The WDR radio broadcast several concerts with Stefan Lex and the ARD engaged him for the television series “Kein schöner Land” and “Heimatklänge”.
Numerous concerts in Europe in many German cities took him to large concert halls such as ICC Hamburg, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Kurhaus Wiesbaden, Aaltotheater Essen, Theater am Marientor Duisburg, Redoute Mainz, Rosengarten Mannheim, Schloss Sanssouci Potsdam, Grand Hotel Viktoria Interlaken, to the concert halls of Oberhausen, Wuppertal, Hagen and Siegen and also to many city theatres.

Stefan Lex sang at the Rheingau music festival the “Sommerfarben” in Herrenberg, at the Mosel music festival weeks and many more.

Since the year 2000 Stefan Lex performs regularly with the lady salon-ensemble Pomp-A-Dur, which is widely known through radio and television productions.

In October 2004 Stefan Lex and Pomp-A-Dur were awarded the “artist of the year” gala prize.
In these concerts he not only presents well-known melodies from opera, operetta, musical and film but moreover fills a large audience with enthusiasm with his admirably fitting and homerous moderation.
